What is Sprouted Seeds Media?
“They tried to bury us, they didn’t know we were seeds.”
Dinos Christianopoulos
A sprouted seed is one that has defied the odds by not only surviving burial but also emerging to flourish anew. In an era where artists are often pressured to sever their strongest sentiments from their artistic practice in favor of so-called neutrality, Sprouted Seeds Media makes space for artists to maximize their potential by supporting original and sincere praxis.
Sprouted Seeds Media engages literary and visual artists in initiatives that foster creative bravery. Through projects and events that facilitate sincere dialogue, experimental partnerships, critical reflection, and more, we inspire and support artists as they transform their creative potential into kinetic crafting.

~Our Founder~
Ashley-Devon Williamston (MA, Sociocultural Anthropology; MFA, Creative Writing) is a multimodal storyteller working primarily with ethnography, poetry, and collage as tools for cultural empowerment and preservation. They have dedicated their writing praxis to observing and translating the complex ether of culture into something people can touch with the tip of their souls. Their working time is divided between applied social research, creative writing, and the literature-focused initiatives they facilitate through Sprouted Seeds Media.
They authored the experimental poetic memoir, Meet Me Where the Water Runs into Itself Once Again (Bottlecap Press). You may find their other poems and culture writing in the African-American Review, The Rumpus, The Infrarrealista Review, Transforming Anthropology, Ginger Magazine, Dinner Bell Magazine, and beyond.
